Producer at VH1
In the summer of 2003 I worked at VH1 on the countdown show "25 Greatest Commercials." I wrote, directed, and produced 90 second packages around numerous famous commercials such as:
Got Milk?'s "Aaron Burr," and "Crying Indian" by the Keep America Beautiful campaign. The project involved a number of skills, including researching, interviewing, and shooting the original creators of the
spots, as well as adding commentary by comedians, rock stars, and other celebrities.

Creative Consultant at Nickelodeon.
As Writer/Producer, I participated in the launch of a new network for Nickelodeon. Hired to brainstorm the look, concept, and content for NicktoonsTV, which debuted in the
Fall of 2003. Nickelodeon seems to appreciate my off-beat (twisted) sense of humor and love of the absurd. In 2002, I was hired to write treatments for "U Pick Live," which airs daily on Nick.

Producer at USA Networks/SciFi Channel.
In 2003, I produced a $300K promo for the US Open tennis tournament, which broadcasted that summer. My duties included creating budgets, running a multi-day, multi-state shoot, and working with the world's top ranked tennis pros.

From 1999-2003, I worked closely with USA Networks/SciFi Channel in a variety of capacities, including producer and director, on over 25 promos.
Projects include the award-winning "I Am SciFi" series and "SciFi Happens." Stars include the spectrum from Moby to Tony Hawk to Dennis Hopper. A brief sample:
"I Am SciFi" - a series of high-concept spots where celebrities identify themselves as being "SciFi." Usually shot on green screen. Subjects include Moby, Venus & Serena Williams, Seth Green, Traci Lords, and Tony Hawk.
Look at my reel for examples.
"SciFi Happens" - a stealth campaign of "amateur" sightings of unexplained phenomena. Footage was "sent in" of "Champ" (the Lake Champlain monster), the Chupacabra (a Puerto Rican goat sucker),
a UFO over NYC, a magnetized boy, and strange behavior by ladybugs. A post-heavy project, and a lot of fun to help create.
Additionally, I've done promos for the series "First Wave," "Lexx," "Farscape," "The Huntress," "Tales From the Crypt," and "Taken," as well as a number of one-off and seasonal events.

Evolution Media has been a great support over the years, and has given me the opportunity to direct segments for The Disney Channel ("Bug Juice II," "American Teacher Awards"), CBS ("Television Hall of Fame") and ABC (promos for "Spin City" and "Soul Man"). I look forward to
a long association with Evolution as the go-to guy in NYC for them.

Additionally:
Over the years I have had the chance to work with numerous music video directors such as Hype Williams, Brett Ratner, Joseph Kahn, and Nigel Dick, to name a few. Although I have generally moved beyond music videos now, it was a production boot camp that transformed me into a battle-hardened producer. I started as a production assistant right out of college and gradually moved up through the ranks from production coordinator, to production manager, and finally producer. Through music videos I had the opportunity to meet rock and rap stars, and work with a wide range of production companies and personnel.
My experience with music videos translated surprisingly well into the more sedate world of commercials. Working with advertising agencies, clients, and other production companies gave me the chance to hone my diplomatic skills and develop into a more well-rounded producer. Commercials are like the court of Louis the XIV compared to the mosh pit of videos, but just because the noise isn't as loud, doesn't mean it's any less serious. Clients have included Sears, the United Jewish Appeal, and Chase Manhattan Bank, among others.
